Third Announcement, February 2025 |
Submit your Abstracts Today! Extended Oral Submission Deadline Feb. 21st |
Contributed papers will make up three of four talks and they will be chosen by a double-blind review process. You have an excellent chance to present your work in this MSB dynamic environment and are guaranteed to hear from speakers you might not see present at other conferences presenting showcasing the best scientific advance in the field. These features are in keeping with the traditions of Society for Microscale Separations and Bioanalysis who oversee the yearly MSB Conference. You can also be assured that the work they present will be riveting!
The abstract submission window is currently open, and we encourage everyone with exciting research results, particularly early-stage results, to submit an abstract. Because of the double-blind nature of the abstracts, we do request that those submitting abstracts adhere to some guidelines. Should you have any questions about the abstract submission process, please reach out to Chris Harrison at charrison@sdsu.edu for assistance. |
The deadline to submit abstracts for an oral has been extended to February 21st, 2025. Poster abstracts will be accepted until April 11th, 2025 |
Alexandra, Chris, and Mark are excited to let you know that the planning for the 41st International Symposium on Microscale Separations and Bioanalysis is well underway. The various venues for the meeting are being finalized, food and refreshment contracts are being sought, and most importantly we are beginning to build the scientific program for the meeting, and we are ready for you to submit your abstracts! |
MSB 2025 Plenary Speakers
Each day of the meeting will begin with a plenary session from a luminary scientist making exciting advances in our field, setting the tone for what is sure to be engaging days filled with high quality scientific presentations.
We are pleased to present here the two of the four plenary speakers – the other two will be announced in the next newsletter, or you could just go to our webpage and see who they are now. |
| Prof. Noo Li Jeon, from School of Mechanical Engineering at the Seoul National University, has been at the forefront of engineering microfluidic devices to enable the complex exploration of biological processes. His team have developed organ-on-a-chip technology, devices for measuring neuron-glia interactions, and cellular microenvironments. Prof. Jeon's research has significantly advanced the study of chemotaxis, axonal guidance, and vascular biology, contributing to innovations in drug screening and tissue engineering. His interdisciplinary approach bridges engineering and life sciences, making his work influential in both academic and industrial biotechnology sectors. |
|
| Dr. Peter Willis, from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, has led a research lab specializing in developing microfluidic technologies for space exploration. His work focuses on developing lab-on-a-chip systems for in situ analysis of extraterrestrial environments, particularly in the search for biosignatures on Mars, Europa, and Enceladus. Willis has played a key role in advancing capillary electrophoresis and mass spectrometry techniques to detect amino acids and other organic molecules in extreme environments. His contributions are critical to NASA's astrobiology missions, helping to refine strategies for identifying signs of life beyond Earth.
