Dear Max Mustermann,
You are contributing to the scientific program of the upcoming HPLC2023-Duesseldorf symposium with a poster presentation. The symposium organizers have recently sent you instructions and guidelines for preparing and presenting your poster. Please read this e-mail carefully and/or check it here.
You also have opted to participate in the Best Poster Award competition sponsored by Agilent. Please take a look at this page for general information about the BPA.
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Dr. Gerard Rozing, Agilent Research Fellow Emeritus and Technical Consultant at Rozing.com Consulting, Karlsruhe, Germany, and the BPA Review Board chairman. My co-chair is Dr. Jiri Urban, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic.
When preparing your poster, you must identify your poster entry as a BPA participant. The poster number code you will receive from the organizers will have the suffix "(BPA).” Your poster number will be on the upper left corner of the board. In addition, in the upper right corner of the poster, in 54-point font, you should write Best Poster Award. Alternatively, and strongly recommended, download the simple PowerPoint template from this location. Unzip the file, click the template, and a new PowerPoint will open with a placeholder for the poster code and an icon “Best Poster Award” in the top right-hand corner.
At HPLC 2023 – Duesseldorf, the poster presentation is divided into two major sections. You have been informed of the poster mounting and removal times and when you are asked to be at your poster. It is very important that you adhere to this schedule. We will instruct the reviewers to meet you at your poster at the designated time. Your commitment to your work is important for a good ranking. On the other hand, you must understand that it is common practice for some reviewers to screen their assigned posters before the session and focus on interviewing the authors of the posters they regard best.
The review process and criteria are described in the above document. In the first round, two reviewers will evaluate approximately 13-17 posters and nominate the author of their favorite poster for a flash presentation (3 min with 2-3 PowerPoint slides) of his/her work on Thursday morning . You will be notified by email once the reviewers have reported their nominations . If you are nominated, you must upload your PowerPoint presentation in the slide center room no. 9 before the final round evaluation session. No upload in the lecture hall is possible!)
We expect approximately 20 nominees in the final round of judging. The final rankings and winners will be announced during the Best Poster Award Honors Session on Thursday afternoon. For this purpose, we ask you to send us a PDF copy of the title slide of your flash presentation.
All awarded will be called to the podium during the Honors Session. The top three will be invited to deliver their flash presentation. If you make it to the flash presentation round but do not win an award, you will receive a certificate of achievement.
Please excuse yourself in case you are unable to participate in the flash presentation round and/or will be unavailable for the honorary session. In the event of non-compliance, you will lose your award.
